Bracelet in the making
Here is one of the things that I am working on right now. I'm really enjoying weaving these teeny tiny Karen Hill beads (1mm) into the piece. Waving thanks to Pippi for hooking me up with these lovelies! If you don't know Pippi, I'd pretty much say you've GOT to go look at her work! And she's such a sweetie too. I've enclosed a photo on my thumb so you can really get the scale. Be forewarned... if bad cuticles and nails offend you -- don't look! For 38 years now I've not been able to make my self take the time to make them look pretty. Working hands are what I've got :)
I'm also using some amazingly beautiful AAA chalcedony and enjoying every minute.
If you aren't familiar with the Karen Hill Tribe beads, get this: Each one is individually handmade and in the instance of these tiny babies, hand faceted.

Your nails look just like mine. LOL I have never taken very good care of them, because it's just a waste of valuable time. I hate having to cut and file them, much less do cuticle work! :)
Oh, I forgot to say, your eyesight must be excellent to work with those teeny beads!

You must be going cross-eyed working with those tiny beads! They're great though, giving the piece some subtle glimmer.
Ditto on the hands/nails - mine are always either in dye or dirt so manicuring is pointless. If I'm eating out I have to remind myself not to spread them out on the table!

Working with your hands doesn't translate into becoming a hand model...that's a certainty! :D I think all of us have working hands!

Thanks for all the kind words on the piece (and hands! ). I'm really enjoying working on it and have no idea where it is going to go from this point. I may leave it just about where it is after adding the finishing beads, or I may build on it and make it into a wider bracelet. No clue! Bracelets and rings are still pretty new territory for me. Woo-hoo! Well really most territory is new to me. It just goes on and on.. aren't we lucky?
About those tiny beads. Believe me, I can't really see them! I must be using a certain cross-eyed, squinty magic to deal with them. My my how those beaders that use the tiny beads can work - I haven't a clue!
